1987-1988 Home shirt (3)

Short Sleeved

Makers: Umbro

Sponsor: Martins Motor Group

Athletic started the season with no kit sponsor so when they where drawn at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the FAC round 3 a draw was organised for 36 local companies to put up 250 and the winner would have the kit sponsorship for the rest of the season. Martins motor group won the draw and their logo was placed on the shirt for the cup game. Unfortunatley the logo was affixed using baking and the shirts quickly deteriorated and where only used for the next two games against West Brom and Crystal Palace. A patch was used for the rest of the season. This shirt was worn by Mike Flynn.
